In the current issue of Nature Materials, Greg Grason, Douglas Hall and Isaac Bruss at UMass (PSE), with Justin Barone at Virginia Tech, identify the key factors that govern the final morphology of self-assembling chiral filament bundles. The model is applied to observations of shape-differentiation in self-assembled amyloid fibers.
