This Award, sponsored by Eastman Chemical Company and administered by the PMSE Division, is given for the best paper presented at the Eastman Chemical Award Symposium as part of the PMSE program at the Fall 2019 National ACS Meeting.
Dr. Bay has recently completed her doctorate at the University of Massachusetts with Prof. Alfred Crosby in the Department of Polymer Science and Engineering as her Ph.D. advisor. The title of her paper, presented at the recent Fall ACS Meeting in San Diego, CA, was “Directly measuring the uniaxial stress-strain response of freestanding ultra-thin glassy polymer films” The other finalists who presented at the Award Symposium were Nicole Thiher (University of Iowa), You-Chi Wu (MIT), Dayton Street (University of Tennessee), and Sonal Bhadauriya (University of Akron).
The award plaque will be presented to Dr. Bay at the Joint PMSE/POLY Awards Reception at the Spring 2020 ACS Meeting in Philadelphia, PA
