Alumni Profiles
Cell Process Engineer - Apple, Inc.
I am from Orocovis, a small town at the geographical center of Puerto Rico. At the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez (UPRM) I graduated from Chemical Engineering, as Magna Cum Laude, with a minor in Environmental Engineering.
Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering - University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati OH.
Professor - Materials Science and Engineering Department - University of Maryland
Associate Professor - Department of Applied Chemistry at National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan
Group Leader Specialty Coatings Applications R&D - Eastman Chemical Company
Postdoc - University of Minnesota
I worked in Professor Coughlin’s research group and graduated in 2016. In my research, I investigated macromolecular design parameters to obtain robust anion conducting membranes with efficient ion conductivity and chemical stability. Currently I work as a senior formulation scientist at Axalta Coatings Systems.Lead Scientist - SABIC Innovative Plastics
I was a PSE graduate student twenty years ago working on polymer surfaces and thin films in Tom McCarthy’s research group. Over the years I have had a chance to revisit Amherst many times – and it has always been a positive experience to meet the faculty & staff.
I am from Mumbai, India, a city with a busy lifestyle and beautiful seashore. I grew up in the suburbs of Mumbai and that’s where I started my academic journey. After high school, I attended the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee (IIT-R) and graduated with an integrated master’s degree in polymer science and technology in 2016. At IIT R, in my sophomore year, I worked with Prof.
For most of my life, I lived and studied in Massachusetts. I received my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2016 and graduated from PSE in Spring 2021.
Before joining PSE, I pursued my B.S. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. While there, I worked in two research groups: with Dr. Jaime Grunlan, where I did research on layer-by-layer assemblies of polymer films for gas barriers, and with Dr. Karen Wooley, where I synthesized hybrid polymeric/magnetic nanoparticles for the environmental remediation of crude oil from water systems.
